Clash of the Brains - Contest Mechanics

Registration and Eligibility

Participation is open to all schools and universities, but participants must be at the College Level.
Each team can be composed of at most 3 members.
Students can join one or both of the competitions.
Only teams who have registered through the google forms will be eligible to join and win the competition.
Teams may register from July 11, 2022 to July 31, 2022. The google forms for registration will be closed outside the said timeline.
Each member is expected to have or create a Discord and Zoom account, and should join the discord server for the competition proper.
The finalized teams will be contacted by the organizers for further instructions via Email, Facebook, or Discord.

Competition Rules

The programming competition and the quiz bee will be two separate competitions.
Participants are required to turn on their cameras and share their whole screens throughout the competition proper.
Participants are not allowed to use any other devices during the competition, in case of emergencies, participants must notify their facilitator.

Programming Competition

Teams must create their own HackerRank account to join. (https://www.hackerrank.com/)
All participants can work simultaneously during the competition.
Every team will receive the same set of problems to be solved.
Teams can solve the problems at any order.
Contestants are only allowed to code using C or C++, Java, and Python programming languages.
The participants may review and open the API or the documentation of the programming languages.
References other than the API or documentation are NOT allowed throughout the competition.
Teams will be submitting their answers through HackerRank.

Quiz Bee

The competition will be divided into 3 parts, easy, average, and difficult.
Each question will be read and teams will be given a limited amount of time to answer.
Teams must submit their answer when the time is up.
Answering each question correctly will merit points, the amount of points will depend on the difficulty of the question.
In a case of a tie, a tiebreaker round shall be initiated. Teams will be given a question and the team that gives the correct answer first will be the winner.

The teams with the highest scores for each competition will be declared as the winners.

Violations

Any form of cheating, plagiarism or indecent behavior will result in immediate disqualification.
Participants must observe the values of politeness, etiquette, and courtesy in dealing with the other members and guests.
